GUI Stake Pool
A mission-driven, high-availability, secure stake pool.
We donate a third of our rewards to code.org.
gooWee has launched a Cardano Stake Pool! 🎉
GUI Stake Pool is a passion project by Juan Portillo and Ian Strouse, owners of gooWee Web Tech, a small web development shop out of Boulder, Colorado.
As entrepreneurs and small business owners we understand the value of community. In fact our community is the bedrock of our existence. We'd be nothing without it, and so we are compelled and excited to give back. This is fundamental to our company culture.
The ability to code is becoming more and more important as jobs become more automated. We believe it is essential that future generations have the opportunity to learn computer science. This is especially true of disadvantaged populations that could get left behind.
That's why we've given our time and resources to various non-profits in the Colorado area. We've also contributed our time by mentoring high school students and providing free seminars for small business owners in disadvantaged populations on topics ranging from website design to app development. We also founded and co-hosted the Boulder React meetup. Additionally, we are creating educational posts and videos for beginners in cryptocurrency and Cardano.
When we learned about Charles Hoskinson and the Cardano project we became instant fanboys, and jumped at the idea of running our own stake pool specifically because it would allow us to further contribute to our community.
Our aim at GUI is to deliver maximum rewards to our delegators. By staking your ADA with GUI stake pool, you'll be supporting a small pool and taking part in further decentralization of the Cardano Network. Most importantly, you'll also be supporting computer science education for future generations! GUI will donate 33% of our profit to code.org, a nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to computer science in schools and increasing participation by young women and students from other underrepresented groups.

Security, availability, and sustainability are our top priorities and we've designed our stake pool with all of those things in mind. Our nodes are set up inside of a DigitalOcean VPC and have highly restrictive access controls in place. We run two relay nodes and a single block producer, 2 dedicated CPUs and 8GB of memory for the relays and 4 dedicated CPUs and 16GB of memory for the block producer. We keep backups of our nodes so that if anything goes down, we can spin up again quickly, rather than going through the full installation process. And last but not least, our cloud infrastructure runs in a European datacenter that uses 100% renewable energy.
How to Delegate
Delegating your wallet enables you to support stake pools while participating in decentralization and the successful running of the Cardano network. Daedalus and Yoroi are two of the most popular wallets with staking capability. If you don't have ADA you can buy some using a cryptocurrency exchange such as Binance.
Download and install Daedalus or Yoroi.
Create a wallet and send your ADA to the wallet address.
Select "Stake pools" in Daedalus or "Delegate" in Yoroi. Find GUI and delegate!
Code.org® is a nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to computer science in schools and increasing participation by young women and students from other underrepresented groups. Their vision is that every student in every school has the opportunity to learn computer science as part of their core K-12 education. The leading provider of K-12 computer science curriculum in the largest school districts in the United States, Code.org also created the annual Hour of Code campaign, which has engaged more than 15% of all students in the world.
